Clean Energy Workforce Development Initiatives

In the rapid transition to clean and renewable energy generation, the United States is currently experiencing once-in-a-century skills training and workforce development challenge.

However, the challenge to ensure that industry has the skilled clean energy workforce required to deliver major projects in a safe and efficient manneralso presents an opportunity to create millions of high-quality, high-wage sustainable jobs, and to create new pathways into the clean energy workforce by expanding apprenticeship opportunities– especially for underrepresented communities.

The Apprenticeships in Clean Energy Network

As a proud member of the Apprenticeships in Clean Energy (ACE) Network, IWSI America is excited to be working with the United States Department of Labor, the Interstate Renewable Energy Council and ten further experienced strategic partners, using the apprenticeship model to build occupational frameworks and registered apprenticeship programs for apprenticeable positions spanning the entire clean energy technology supply chain.

Expanding the scale of registered apprenticeship opportunities across the clean energy sector will help ensure the US has the skilled workers required to fully capitalise on the economic opportunities of the clean energy transition.
